A Spanish lace veil, also known as a Mantilla veil is a highly desirable accessory among brides. However, many brides feel stumped when it comes to wearing one. If you haven't already, click here to get the details on how to wear a Spanish lace veil for your wedding day.

Many of you often ask what I wore on my wedding day and I'm always flattered! Here's a look at how I followed the guidelines from The Ultimate Mantilla Guide for my own wedding day! I chose the Patricia Cathedral Length Mantilla which features a pretty paisley patterned lace to pair with my draped chiffon wedding dress.

The Dress and Hair

My dress was fitted with a little draping, a small train and embellishments at the top of the bodice. Since there was no lace on my dress, I had many lace veil options. I wanted to wear my mantilla at the lower back of my head so my hair was pinned low to create volume at the crown.

The Mantilla

The church I got married in had a really long aisle that was perfect for my cathedral length mantilla! I love how sophisticated, traditional and timeless it looks in the photographs.

Accents

I found a beautiful silver Spanish broach and knew it would be the perfect compliment to my mantilla. It had a pin and clasp so I could have attached it myself but I wanted it to be secure so I had my seamstress sew it in for me. Since she did the alterations for my dress, she attached the broach at no additional cost. If you need a small adjustment like this, I highly suggest asking your seamstress, they will most likely be able to accommodate you.

Reception Hair Accessories

I wish I could have worn my mantilla all night! For the reception, I channeled my inner Carrie Bradshaw with a feather hair comb with rhinestone accents. It was just enough to make me feel like a bride but not keep me from dancing!
